cousin fun and surgery

Well this has certainly not been considered a uneventful summer by any means at all!!! After having lasik a couple of years ago I ended up with a corneal bubble that after it hurting and annoying me I ended up going in and having it surgically removed and 3 days later in the operating room again.... I have been having a lot of stomach problems and went to the doctor and sure enough I had gall stones...well after surgery and a two night stay in the hospital I was on my way to feeling better...well much easier said than done!!!!  That was a lot more painful than I ever imagined, but they did end up having to make 4 incisions instead of the normal 2.  And due to low oxygen and high pain levels I ended up having to stay in the hospital longer.  I  did get some amazing flowers from my family and amazing husband...thanks for all the prayers and love!!!
While all of this is going on my sister had sent 3 of her kids to hang out for a couple of weeks...so fun to have them there!!! My mom and I took them to the base splash pad several times and a military appreciation dinner on base.  Love that my kids are so close to their cousins.  A week after surgery Jackie and the rest of the clan came and we had so much fun!!!  We celebrated Jackie's 25th birthday (AGAIN)...lol.  My cousin who has battled thyroid cancer and her cute kids and my cousin Hannah came to the bday celebration as well...so fun to see everyone!!!!!

Shaylee's Birthday

Well...My baby turned 10 this year...no more single digits...now that made me sad!!!  It was a fun day though!!!  We started the day with breakfast at Crackle Barrel with Grandma and Grandpa and then off to see Brave.  Then we went home and I made a cake from scratch...yes I baked!!!  And it was actually pretty good!!!  Then Matt and Marrianne came over with the boys and we had a bbq .....small and simple, just the way we like it!!!  She had a great day.... the only thing...well person missing was her Dad but he made sure to send her the prettiest flowers.  Next year he will be there for sure!!!

Family Reunion in Oregon

Well, I know that it has been a really long time since I have updated my blog but as you will see with a lot of posts we have had a lot going on this summer!!!!  It all started with taking a road trip to Oregon with our cousin Jennifer for our family reunion.  A couple of days before we left Mark's brother Jeff and his wife Julie dropped their son off at BYU and left their daughter Jordan with us and took Shaylee to Oregon with them.  It was so much fun to be able to take Jordan to all of our favorite places:  seven peaks water park, pats bbq and vintage cupcake.  Then it was time to load up and head on our trip.  I think part of the funnest part was getting to hear all of the stories from Grandpa about other family members that I wasn't able to meet because they had past on.  I got to spend a day with my mother in law Debbie and we went and ran errands and went on a tour of Harry and Davids...we had so much fun!  I love to spend time with her, it makes me feel closer to my Mark.....I think we help get eachother through while he is gone.   It was also a lot of fun to get to spend time with Jennifer and her daughter Vivi.
